Sonja Selami has over 20 years of combined experience as an attorney both domestically and abroad, with 10 years practicing in the field of Real Estate Law. She started her own practice in 2006, and has brought aboard a number of skilled attorneys along the way.|

 

Originally from Albania, Sonja graduated with top honors from the Tirana University School of Law, soon becoming one of the youngest licensed attorneys in her city. She moved to Boston in 1996, and continued to excel in her legal studies. She later graduated from the New England School of Law, beginning her focus on matters of real estate. Learning from other successful attorneys in the area, Sonja began working closely with home buyers, sellers, lenders, and other real estate entities in a variety of different types of estate transactions. Sonja and her practice were welcomed by the Massachusetts Bar Association in 2006, and has assisted thousands of clients since.

Sonja continues to lead her team of experienced attorneys in their company headquarters in Newton, Massachusetts.

Keira F. Gibson

Managing Attorney

Keira Gibson joined the Law Offices of Sonja B Selami in the fall of 2010.  Her focus is representing buyers and sellers achieve their goals of purchasing or selling primary, secondary or investment properties or condominiums.  She also frequently represents lenders and investors.  Keira especially enjoys helping first time buyers realize their dream of owning their first home. She understands the pressures and complications of the buying and selling process and aims to simplify the process for her clients so it is easier and less stressful.  As Managing Attorney Gibson provides support to all staff attorneys, assists new attorneys acclimate into the firm, is involved in general operations and events and also manages the operation of our Lexington office.  Originally from southwestern Connecticut Keira is a 2007 Cum Laude graduate of Stonehill College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She then attended New England School of Law where she was a member of the Journal for Civil and Criminal Confinement.

Michael Lord

Mike specializes in representing buyers, sellers and lenders in all aspects of residential real estate transactions throughout Massachusetts.   Mike has a background in civil litigation and estate planning. He has served as lead counsel in numerous trials throughout Massachusetts courts and practiced extensively in estate planning law, but his passion is in real estate. He has been practicing real estate law since 2007 and has been involved with thousands of real estate transactions. Mike obtained his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and his Juris Doctor degree from the Massachusetts School of Law in Andover where he was a winner of a school mock trial competition and graduated in the top 10% of his class. Mike works primarily in the downtown Boston and Norwell offices. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and traveling.

Norbert G. Styblo

Norbert has experience working on a broad range of transactional matters in real estate and his

practice focuses primarily on representing buyers, sellers, lenders and relocation companies in residential real estate transactions. He also has experience with condominium conversions and title issues in connection with both residential and commercial real estate. During and shortly after law school, Mr. Styblo worked for residential real estate law firms in Massachusetts, as either a paralegal or an associate attorney.

Melissa Morrow

Melissa Morrow’s practice has focused on residential real estate since 1998, representing buyers, sellers and lenders in thousands of transactions throughout the Commonwealth and conducting, reviewing and reconciling title examinations.   She has substantial experience with post-foreclosure titles and representing institutional sellers in REO transactions.  Melissa is a proud member of the Real Estate Bar Association and participated as faculty in the 2015 Spring Conference: Ibanez and its Aftermath: Title Issues to be Aware of Post-Foreclosure and will be speaking in the upcoming Fall Conference: How to Handle Condominium Liens in a Mortgage Foreclosure.  She has also spoken on foreclosure-related title issues for the Boston Bar Association and conducted seminars on HUD-insured reverse mortgages.  In her spare time, Melissa volunteers as a Boston By Foot docent, a non-profit educational organization dedicated to promoting public awareness and appreciation of Boston’s rich history and architectural heritage by offering a wide range of guided tours.

Ashley M. McPartland

Ashley joined the team at Law Offices of Sonja B. Selami in 2008 and has worked as a Real Estate Paralegal for eight years prior to being admitted to the Massachusetts Bar. Attorney McPartland’s practice focuses on representing buyers and sellers in real estate negotiations and lenders in real estate closings. As the Director of Operations, Ashley’s responsibilities include planning and monitoring the day-to-day running of the offices to ensure smooth progress, delegating tasks and creating a stream of communication, and liaising with superiors to make decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals for the team.

Caroline Fraser

Caroline joined the team at Law Offices of Sonja B. Selami in the fall of 2012. She is a paralegal who focuses on the firm’s buyer representation, purchase transactions and borrower refinances. She works closely with our attorneys, real estate agents, lenders, and of course, the buyers, to facilitate a smooth real estate closing. After the closing, Caroline especially enjoys conveying the message to the new homeowner, that the Deed has been filed with the registry.
