Sonja Selami has over 20 years of combined experience as an attorney both domestically and abroad, with 10 years practicing in the field of Real Estate Law. She started her own practice in 2006, and has brought aboard a number of skilled attorneys along the way.|

 

Originally from Albania, Sonja graduated with top honors from the Tirana University School of Law, soon becoming one of the youngest licensed attorneys in her city. She moved to Boston in 1996, and continued to excel in her legal studies. She later graduated from the New England School of Law, beginning her focus on matters of real estate. Learning from other successful attorneys in the area, Sonja began working closely with home buyers, sellers, lenders, and other real estate entities in a variety of different types of estate transactions. Sonja and her practice were welcomed by the Massachusetts Bar Association in 2006, and has assisted thousands of clients since.

Sonja continues to lead her team of experienced attorneys in their company headquarters in Newton, Massachusetts.

Michael Lord

Esquire

Mike specializes in representing buyers, sellers and lenders in all aspects of residential real estate transactions throughout Massachusetts.   Mike has a background in civil litigation and estate planning. He has served as lead counsel in numerous trials throughout Massachusetts courts and practiced extensively in estate planning law, but his passion is in real estate. He has been practicing real estate law since 2007 and has been involved with thousands of real estate transactions. Mike obtained his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and his Juris Doctor degree from the Massachusetts School of Law in Andover where he was a winner of a school mock trial competition and graduated in the top 10% of his class. Mike works primarily in the downtown Boston and Norwell offices. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and traveling.

Melissa Morrow

Melissa Morrow’s practice has focused on residential real estate since 1998, representing buyers, sellers and lenders in thousands of transactions throughout the Commonwealth and conducting, reviewing and reconciling title examinations.   She has substantial experience with post-foreclosure titles and representing institutional sellers in REO transactions.  Melissa is a proud member of the Real Estate Bar Association and participated as faculty in the 2015 Spring Conference: Ibanez and its Aftermath: Title Issues to be Aware of Post-Foreclosure and will be speaking in the upcoming Fall Conference: How to Handle Condominium Liens in a Mortgage Foreclosure.  She has also spoken on foreclosure-related title issues for the Boston Bar Association and conducted seminars on HUD-insured reverse mortgages.  In her spare time, Melissa volunteers as a Boston By Foot docent, a non-profit educational organization dedicated to promoting public awareness and appreciation of Boston’s rich history and architectural heritage by offering a wide range of guided tours.

Ashley M. McPartland

Ashley joined the team at Law Offices of Sonja B. Selami in 2008 and has worked as a Real Estate Paralegal for eight years prior to being admitted to the Massachusetts Bar. Attorney McPartland’s practice focuses on representing buyers and sellers in real estate negotiations and lenders in real estate closings. As the Director of Operations, Ashley’s responsibilities include planning and monitoring the day-to-day running of the offices to ensure smooth progress, delegating tasks and creating a stream of communication, and liaising with superiors to make decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals for the team.

Claire L. Davis joined the Law Offices of Sonja B. Selami, P.C. in May 2017. Ms. Davis is licensed to practice law in Massachusetts and concentrates her practice in residential real estate law. She has 15 years of experience representing buyers, sellers and lenders in the acquisition, financing and sale of residential property.

Caroline Fraser

Caroline joined the team at Law Offices of Sonja B. Selami in the fall of 2012. She is a paralegal who focuses on the firm’s buyer representation, purchase transactions and borrower refinances. She works closely with our attorneys, real estate agents, lenders, and of course, the buyers, to facilitate a smooth real estate closing. After the closing, Caroline especially enjoys conveying the message to the new homeowner, that the Deed has been filed with the registry.

Cassandra joined the Law Offices of Sonja B. Selami in 2009. Having graduated from Roger Williams University with a BS in Criminal Justice, she started as a Real Estate assistant and is now one of the Senior Paralegals. Her focus is assisting lenders, buyers and sellers throughout the transaction from beginning to end.

Joshua first joined the Law Offices of Sonja B. Selami in the spring of 2016 and has over five years’ experience practicing real estate law. A graduate of Harvard University, Boston College Law School, and Tufts University, he represents buyers, sellers, and lenders in real estate closings and all other aspects of the real estate conveyancing process.

Kimberly Kosanovich

Kimberly Kosanovich’s law practice has focused on residential real estate since 2001. She has represented thousands of buyers and sellers in real estate negotiations, and is an expert in representing lenders in real state closings. Kimberly is a certified mediator in both Massachusetts and with the Florida Supreme Court. Kimberly has experience in trusts & estate and divorce law & mediation, but her passion is real estate. Kimberly prides herself on interpersonal relationships and making sure every transaction is a positive experience! Kimberly is on the advisory board for the Life Is Good Foundation, and is a supporter of EmpowerHER, helping young girls who have experienced the early loss of their mother. In her free time, Kimberly enjoys cheering on the New England Patriots, traveling with her husband, and trying to bring down her golf handicap.

Christopher C. Nichols

Chris joined the Law Offices of Sonja B. Selami in the Spring of 2018.  He has extensive experience representing buyers, sellers and lenders in all facets of residential real estate transactions.  Chris has been working in the field of residential real estate for almost twenty years and enjoys facilitating a smooth closing process for his clients.  Chris also has a background in civil litigation and has worked as a prosecutor prior to his focus on real estate.

Chris is a lifelong resident of Norwell, Massachusetts where he lives with his wife and they raised their three children.

Stacy Norrell

Stacy brings over seven years experience in real estate law, as an attorney and paralegal, and relentless dedication to our office. After graduating from Salve Regina, in Newport, RI, Stacy began working as a real estate paralegal. She decided to continue her career in law and enrolled at the University of Massachusetts School of Law in Dartmouth, Massachusetts. Stacy continued to work full-time and attended the law school part-time evening division.  Stacy’s persistence and dedication contributed to her success throughout law school and she graduated Magna Cum Laude, and as the Class Valedictorian. Stacy is experienced in the closing process from start to finish, including the negotiation of Purchase and Sale Agreements, title review, deed review and post-closing. On the weekends, Stacy acts as a tutor to help law students with their studies, as well as prepare for the Bar Exam. When Stacy is not working, she enjoys exploring the Caribbean and Mexico with her family.
